Founder & Managing Director

Clyne Albertelli is the visionary Founder and Managing Director of Co-Lab, established in March 2022 in the Lake District, Cumbria.

“Co-Lab exists to create solutions to today’s challenges whilst inspiring the minds that will solve tomorrow’s.”

Clyne is an engineer with a background in complex problem-solving across nuclear, energy, and environmental sectors. As Managing Director of Co-Lab, he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on helping clients more effectively see, solve, and deliver engineering and strategic challenges.
 

His career spans technical delivery, leadership, and innovation, from building and running Sellafield’s post-COVID Innovation Centre to securing investment for clean energy and robotics systems, and authoring business cases adopted by government and industry. He has led national collaborations in decommissioning, robotics, and industrial strategy, and has supported over 150 early-career professionals through structured engineering programmes.
 

Clyne combines technical depth with a clear-sighted, practical approach to delivery. He is especially interested in system-level challenges where engineering, commercial, and environmental considerations intersect. He remains hands-on where needed, whether designing hardware systems, guiding risk assessments, or shaping business models.
 

Clyne is an advocate for inclusive and thoughtful leadership. He believes in diverse teams, clear communication, and building tools and systems that support people to do their best work. He is a member of the IET and an active contributor to Cumbria’s innovation and skills ecosystem.
